Softball season is right around the corner. The CGBC Fightin' Reformers are looking forward to capturing the trophy that eluded them during their inaugural basketball season. GM Randy Pifer and Coach Justin McDaniel attended the winter meeting and fielded questions from the media and gave their thoughts on the upcoming season. "We are looking forward to the season and doing something the basketball team couldn't do" McDaniel said.
Open tryouts will be held, and a final roster will be announced soon. Preliminary rosters included potential all-stars Amber Mathis, Ben Elting's Mustache, and basketball MVP Benji Hutson. "I feel if we rely on each others strengths and allow me to win the games for us, we will have a pretty good team" said a confident Mathis. During an unofficial practice session, Mathis was hitting balls well over the pitchers head.
Highlights of the Media session included the following question/answers:
CGBCNN: Mr. Hutson, what is your prediction for the season?
Benji Hutson: I've never played in the league before, but I feel confident we are the best team.
CGBCNN: Isn't that what you said before the basketball season?
BH: I can't help that my teammates didn't hold up their end of the deal.
CGBCNN: Coach, if things go as planned, will you do something special for the team before the playoffs?
Justin McDaniel: Playoffs?! Don't talk about playoffs! Are you kidding me? Playoffs?! I'm just hoping we can win a game!
