TCC has started the 2019–20 season 3-0 for the first time in program history. Monday night they were able to withstand the tough, some may say dirty, play of Pelham First Baptist to walk away with a 38 -23 victory.  Hugh Carson returned to form to lead the Reformers in scoring. Carson had his long ball working tonight hitting 2 from deep. The LaPierre twins provided their normal all-around game with several highlight plays. Tyler Moody made his season debut and was able to affect the game with good defense and some timely rebounding and put backs.
The story of the game however was the referees inability to call any fouls. As the night wore on the game got more and more physical. Fearing injury, after a non-call, Randy Pifer was assessed the first technical foul in TCC history when he questioned the referee on his non-call. After the game he was asked about his tech, “I wanted to spur my teammates on to victory. I was brave enough to take that bullet so that the refs would start to call some fouls before someone got hurt”.  After the technical was called Pelham Road stepped up to the free-throw line and missed both shots to which Pifer exclaimed “ball don’t lie!”
TCC will be hosting the annual fan Appreciation night on February 3, 2020 at 7:30 PM. Make plans now to join us for a night of celebration, game day program and other fun activities.
