The 2016-17 Season has come to a close.  The Fightin' Reformers had a successful campaign and finished the season 6-3 including an impressive OT win over Edwards Road and a blowout victory on Fan Appreciation Night against LCOS.  GM Randy Pifer meet with the team after the final game and announced the season award winners.  The awards included MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.  The winners names will be inducted into the TCC hall of fame, joining last years winner.  Last years MVP (Hugh Carson), Defensive Player of the Year (Daniel Brown) and Rookie of the Year (Sam Ali) presented the awards to this years winners in a ceremony worthy of all the pomp and circumstance.

This year's winners were:

MVP:  Ryan LaPierre

Not only did LaPierre lead the team in scoring, but he also took over halfway through the season as coach and led the team to their first winning season in history.  LaPierre was the most consistent shooter on the team and led in three point percentage.  He finished the year averaging 19.2 points and 4.2 boards per game.

Defensive Play of the Year: Daniel Brown

Brown takes home the DPOY trophy for the second year in a row.  His quick hands and lightning reflexes led to many forced turnovers and easy points for TCC.  He only averaged 1.1 steals per game, but his constant on the ball pressure on his assignment did not get many open looks.  He was consistently placed on the opposing teams best offensive player and he more than held his own week to week.

Rookie of the Year:  Rome Lawson

Lawson was a force on the boards, leading the team with 9.9 boards per game.  He was second on the team in blocks and led the team in FG percentage.  He was the youngest player on the team, but one of the most vocal leaders on the team.  TCC can only hope he will continue to grow into his role as a team leader.
